Our little block of Chenin Blanc perched at the top of the Trappers Gully vineyard is the only Chenin Blanc in the region. It is the most transparent of all our wines a true expression of the vineyard. The grapes are hand picked and pressed directly to old barrels where it ferments naturally and spends the next 10 months before bottling.
The cool ripening season of the Great Southern bodes well for the variety translating to intense acidity and delicate characters. The nose is lifted with pear, preserved lemon as well as fresh citrus characters, more of the same on the palate with a waxy mouthfeel and a pithiness to close.
