La Petite Vanguard Grenache

100% Grenache

The summer of 2019 was brutal, due to several above 40-degree days, and hit our dry grown vines especially hard. On the back of already drought conditions, we saw an excellent quality of Grenache across two different hand picks, but a small yield of around 15HL/Ha, 60% below the long-term average, and the lowest crop in the entire 51 year history.

The final wines sees around 70% whole bunch, some carbonic, some more traditional. Old hogsheads and puncheons housed the wine for about 8 months post press, before the final wine was blended and sent to bottle without fining or filtration.
