Ruby Slipper Fortified Red

700ml / 18% ABV

Ruby Slipper is a blend of Margaret River Shiraz (90%) and
Tempranillo (10%) up to 5 years of age. A combination of hand
and machine harvesting has been used. All batches are crushed
into large open fermenters and then twice daily foot trod until
natural fermentation begins. Brandy spirit is added to stop the
fermentation at a predetermined residual sweetness. The wines
then spend time in aged cognac barrels until it is ready to blend
into Ruby Slipper.

A very intense nose of spicy red fruits – cherry and plum with
underlying licorice.

A sweet style of ruby fortified Shiraz with rich flavours of plum
and sweet, warm spices. The ripe fruit flavours fill the mid palate
and the finish is generous and dry. It is a full bodied fortified wine
that displays soft and well integrated tannins and underlying
spice and light toast from the seasoned Cognac oak barriques.
